Literal Meaning of Nirmal is derived from a Sanskrit word which means clean, crystal clear, still and pure state of water. Through this Yoga we will achieve the same state of our body and mind.

When body and mind is in peace, clean, crystal-clear and still; it is in the stage of Samadhi.@@This stage was attained by Lord Buddha called "Nirvana"

Below are the 5 basic principles "5Ps" of Nirmal Yoga:-

Breathing makes an important role in Nirmal Yoga. Always try to breathe in and out through your nose, with your mouth closed. (In few cases, mouth is used to inhale and exhale. In that case you will be instructed to do so.) Expand your chest with inhalation and contract your stomach with exhalation. Breathing and asans always work together.

Proper pose is another basic element of Nirmal Yoga. Millions of postures are mentioned in an ancient Yoga book. So, we have to be careful because one small difference may create another new pose, leading to a different, unintended effect. Postures in this Yoga are mostly focused on the internal organs and glands. Proper breathing enables us to focus on internal organs and glands in our body. Nirmal Yoga works on muscles and bone as well.

These Yogaa postures are done in 6 modes;-
a. Standing
b. Inversion
c. Side bend
d. Twist
e. Forward bend
f. Backward bend

All the poses in the modes mentioned above have benefits to different parts of our body.
During the Yogaa session, asans are categorized into warm ups (micro Yoga which focuses on working one part of the body eg. neck, wrists, toes, etc.), main asans (working several parts of / whole body), pranayama (breathing) and finally Savasana (relaxation). By this sequence, not only one particular part but the whole body get exercise and will get benefits, if done on a daily basis.

Relaxation is important in Nirmal Yoga. It recharges our body and awakens our vital energy.
Not only the muscles but all the internal organs and glands have to be relaxed. Asans are followed by Savasana. During Savasana, you lie down your body, with your arms and legs spread out; eyes and mouth have to be closed, always breathe through your nose during Savasana and the mind has to be empty. As you breathe out, relax your tense body parts and lay them on the floor. After each asan, try to relax your tense body parts.
This is the only way to remove stress from our body and mind.
Please remember that during Savasana, you are NOT supposed to sleep.

The three principles mentioned above are practiced in Yogaa class, whereas this principle is practiced outside the class. It is said that "What you are, what you eat." So we have to decide what we want to be and decide our foods accordingly.

- Always give your first priority to "sattvic" food such as green leafy vegetables, seasonal and fresh fruits, cowfs milk. Meat or its product, red meat and frozen food is strictly prohibited.
- Choose foods that are easily digested.
- Food should be taken in a minimum of 3 hours before Nirmal Yoga.
- Cowfs milk or water (lemon water or still) can be taken up to 30 minutes prior to the class. Do not drink during class.

This is the most important principle.
There is a thought behind every action and movement. So, it is very important to think positive during asans. Even in our daily lives.
Negative thoughts create poison in our body, destroying our healthy cells especially affecting our brain cells. However, positive thoughts create antidotes and make our body healthy, wealthy and wise. Hence, while doing each asan, keep your mind on acupoints and try to imagine that your body is getting benefits from it.
