|
| Step by Step: |
|
| 1. | Sit in Padamasan. |
| 2. | Place your hand in Gyan mudra (tip of thumb and index finger touching, the rest relaxed but straight). Place them on your legs in relaxed manner. |
| 3. | Close your eyes. Breath in slowly. |
| 4. | Exhale saying the word "A", "U", with closed mouth "M". Extend the sound as long as you can (in a relaxed manner). |
| Try to mouth the word "A", "U" properly. Try to word the syllables in the mannner; "A"=>short, "U"=>longer, "M"=> half the length of "U". | |
| 5. | Repeat 10 times. |
| AUM is the king of all prayers. The sound of "A", represents Lord Brahma, and you should imagine the navel when saying it. The sound "U" represents Lord Vishnu, you imagine the thyroid gland when saying it.
The "M" represents Lord Shiva, imagine the centre of the brain, pituary gland when saying it. This sound is the origin of all beings. It is a complete sound with opening(creation), functioning(sustain), and closing(vanish). All diseases will be cured if you practice omka with pure mind and soul. |
