Dr. Nirmal Raj Gyawali
Arogya Ashram

Nirmal Raj is a dedicated, knowledgeable and extremely well-trained yoga instructor and Naturopathy doctor from Kathmandu, Nepal. In addition to holding a doctorate in Naturopathy, Nirmal is certified and Licensed by the Arogya Ashram to teach Yoga as well as to teach and certify instructors in Hatha Yoga.

Nirmal began studying and practicing yoga at the age of 9, inspired by his grandfather, Yogacharya Dr. Kashi Raj Uphadhayaya, the owner of Arogya Ashram Nepal in the area of the holy temple of Pashupati Nath.

Nirmal completed his diploma in Hatha Yoga and Naturopathy in 1993, and received a doctorate degree in 1998. Motivated by his keen interest in the Yogic Sciences, he joined the International School of the Yoga System of Medicine, where he completed training in Yoga Therapy, Ayurvedic Massage, and Organic Food Management.

In 1993, Nirmal started working at the Arogya Ashram as a Yoga Instructor, and was promoted to assistant doctor in 1998. In addition to running a branch of the Arogya Ashram, Nirmal has also taught yoga and holistic living practices at various health clubs in Nepal, as well as at the National Police Training Academy, earning the respect and praise of high ranking officers and students.

Nirmal is teaching private yoga classes in Tokyo, as well as currently teaching at Tokyo Yoga Center, mellow beaute and Iloiha. He has also taught workshops at Sun and Moon Yoga Center, the International Dance Academy, and the International Yoga Center, Ogikubo, Tokyo.

While Nirmal can teach a wide range of yoga moderations: invigorating and therapeutic , "Laughing Yoga", Raja Yoga, Power yoga, Ashtanga yoga, he specializes in teaching the traditional Hatha Yoga principles and practices where the quest for perfection of asans as well as inner peace and balance through meditation form the fundamentals of his teaching and way of life.

In addition to regular yoga classes and special workshops, Nirmal is available for Ayurvedic Massage, Pressure Massage, and Yogic Massage, as well as individual Ayurvedic and organic dietary counseling and cooking classes.@For those in extreme pain with chronic illness, you may receive an Ayurvedic Healing Treament.
